A POEM FOR YOU

Imagine

by

Kenneth Whitey Gardner

Imagine a world where time stands still.

Where nothing you do is of your own free will.

Stripped of your freedom, you hopes and your pride.

Surrounded by strangers with no place to hide.

Imagine a world where you are told what to wear.

A place where it seems nobody cares.

You're told each day when not to talk.

And where you can and cannot walk.

Imagine a world where your surrounded by hate.

And all you can do is sit and wait.

Imagine a world where you have no choice.

Where you cannot think because of all the noise.

Imagine a place where you work for no pay.

And you're made to feel worthless each and everyday.

Imagine a world where the days crawl by like snails.

Where all you have to hope for is just a little mail.

And to walk free is your greatest desire.

OUR OTHER BOOKS

Posted: 01/08/2008

I have two other books that have recently hit the market if you would like to check them out they can be found at xlibris.com in their books store or on the web at amazon.com or barnsandnoble.com .

Gold Fever: Western.

Introduction: Riding into Hopeville to locate a small ranch to buy, Thomas Bentwell heard the whoops and hallers with which old Whitey Blackstone a miner greeted a letter from the assay office announcing that he had struck it rich.  With a number of men of questionable character within earshot, Thomas knew this would mean that those with gold fever would be out to get Whitey and take over his claim. So, out of a sense of justice, Thomas became the miner's self-appointed protector.  He followed the gunman who were trailing Whitey and saved the oldster from a shootout. In gratitude, the old miner sold Thomas his quarter-section of powder range and sixty head of cattle, then rode out to keep his postponed date with death, leaving Thomas to break the news to Whitey's beautiful Granddaughter, and to find the old man's murder.
